Evelyn M. Ghizzoni Detelich

Homemaker was lifelong member of St. Bernadette’s

Evelyn M. Ghizzoni Detelich of Masury died on Thursday, October 4, 2007 in Juniper Village at the Shenango Inn, Sharon, after a brief illness. She was 84.

Mrs. Detelich was born Oct. 21, 1922, in Conifer, Pa., a daughter of Frank A. and Irene Sebastian Ghizzoni.

After graduation in 1940 from Brookfield High School, as a young woman Evelyn worked at the former Willson’s furniture store in Sharon.

Mrs. Detelich went on to serve her family as a full-time homemaker.

She was a lifelong member of St. Bernadette’s Church, Masury, and the Masury Card Club.

Mrs. Detelich was a helping hand to many of her friends and neighbors, especially as they became elderly and needed more assistance in their lives.

In her spare time, she enjoyed taking bus trips to Carousel Dinner Theater in Akron.

Her husband, Joseph P. Detelich, whom she married Sept. 6, 1947, died May 2, 1995.

Survivors include: her sons, Larry Detelich, Masury; and Robert Detelich and his wife Linda, Hubbard; her grandchildren, Scott and Lisa Detelich; her sister-in-law, Mary Ghizzoni, Houston, Texas; her many nieces and nephews; and her best friend, Norina Farkas.

Besides her husband, Mrs. Detelich was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Edward Ghizzoni.

As an expression of sympathy, the family suggests contributions be made to Southern Care, 3009 Wilmington Road, New Castle 16105.

Service: Mass of Christian burial at 11 a.m. Monday (10-8-07) in St. Bernadette’s Church, Masury, with the Rev. Frank Zanni, pastor, as celebrant.

Burial: Brookfield Township Cemetery.
