Margaret A. Ghizzoni

Hubbard woman enjoyed her family, Slovak baking

Margaret A. Ghizzoni of Hubbard, passed away 8:25 p.m. Sunday (12-27-09) with her family by her side in Hospice House, Poland, Ohio, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was 84.

Mrs. Ghizzoni was Sept. 15, 1925, in Masury, the youngest of 10 children born to George and Mary Kasada Pollack.

A lifelong area resident, she attended Sacred Heart School of Sharon and was an alumna of Brookfield High School.

Margaret was manager of housekeeping at Ramada Inn of Youngstown and was a member of St. Patrick's Church of Hubbard.

She enjoyed playing cards, Slovak baking and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and her great-grandson.

Margaret leaves: her husband of 61 years, Herman Ghizzoni, whom she married Nov. 20, 1948; her son, Gary Ghizzoni and his wife Diana, Hubbard; her grandchildren, Shannon Ghizzoni, Columbus, Ohio; Ryan Ghizzoni and his wife Megan, Austintown, Ohio; and Kelly Ghizzoni and Meghan Ghizzoni, both Hubbard; and her great-grandson, Christopher Ghizzoni.

She was beloved “Aunt Margie” to many nieces and nephews. She also leaves her sister, Cecelia Misik, Farrell.

Margaret was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, George, John and Anthony; and her sisters, Mary, Anna, Helen, Betty and Paula.

The Ghizzoni family would like to thank the staff of Hospice House, Poland, for their loving care and support.

Service: Mass of Christian burial at 10 a.m. Thursday (12-31-09) in St. Patrick's Church, Hubbard, with prayers at 9:15 a.m. in the funeral home.

Entombment: St. Rose Cemetery, Hermitage.
